  • #5 vs. #7 - What is the difference?

    Hi
What is the difference between Meg's #5 new car Glaze and Meg's #7 Glaze? Does #5 have #7's filling/hiding capabilities??

    Thanks!

#5 New Car Cleaner is formulated to dry in a humid climate fast and dries very white.

#7 Show Car Glaze is a very wet product and dries more or less clear/opaque.

#5 probably will not fill in and hide swirls and scratches as well as #7 as #7 is the richest in polishing oils pure polish in the Meguiar's line.

Exactly what Mike said, though I'll point out that the "dries white" aspect of #5 doesn't cause any problems as it wipes right off.

The big thing about #5 is (IMO) its ease of use. I'd give it a try and see if the trade off (ease vs. looks) is worth it to you. It usually is for me but I keep them both on hand. #5 *will* do a bit of concealing but no, it's not as effective as #7.

For something sorta in-between #5 and #7 you might try #3, it works fine for me by hand or machine. With all the "pure polishes" to choose from, one is bound to be just what you're looking for.

Don't forget about #81 either. IMHO it works just as well as #7 on clearcoat paint and is easier to wipe off.

          I prefer #81 over #7... Good stuff!

            Good morning all,

I'm thinking about trying #7, #21 then #16, would it be worthwhile topping that with #7 again just to get the wet look yeah?

            Thanks
