It's hard to tell from the pictures what exactly you're working on, regardless, below are three links to threads that discuss how to remove swirls and scratches by hand.
What it Means to Remove a Scratch
How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX
How To Remove Swirls By Hand
Remember, you are limited in what you can do by the thickness of the clear coat. In some cases you cannot completely remove a scratch, but you can often times improve a scratch to the point that it is much less noticeable.

My friend failed at backing his Camaro into the parking space next to my car and rubbed... It isn't scratched at least I don't think it is.. I'm not sure what that is... I can't feel the scratch, it might be something with the clear coat.~cRaVe420

the key mark looks a bit more obvious in person.... it was worst before the touch up paint was leveled w/ rubbing compound..it was a pretty heavy key mark to start with... yes i used rubbing compound on black!! but had no choice but it obviously made it a lot better overall after scratch x was used to get rid of the marks that have been made by the rubbing compound.... just wondering if anyone has a good technique for leveling touch up paint... is wetsanding the only way?

Truth be known... fixing key scratches like this is really difficult. It comes down to doing a good job of applying touch up paint and the a little polishing like you've done and call it good. As soon as you try to start wet sanding the area you run the risk of making the damage worse when you try to remove your sanding marks using a rotary buffer.
The best thing to do is to only apply a little touch up paint with a fine tip brush you buy at a crafts store, not the huge brush head that is built into the cap.

so just keep doing the process of applying touch up paint little by little and leveling it down with compounds..... would 83 w/ the DA be safe too? b/c crave420 have just ordered a pc and is planing on fixing is other scratchs and the major swirl problem he has now with 83 and then 80..... ive remembered seeing one of the experianced memebers on this board do a black jetta that had a shovel mark on it.... would be great if i could get the key mark to look like that...
