    Hey Kelly,

It is still difficult to tell from the photo, but it looks like one of three things:

    1. It could be chemical etching caused by a bird dropping

    2. It was hit by and egg, which stained the paint and cause micro-fractures in the paint.

    3. It could be the beginning of BC/CC failure.

My guess is either 1 or 3. If it is #1, and after several applications of ScratchX, there is only slight improvement, someone skilled with a rotary buffer may be needed. Or, if there is no improvement from the ScratchX, then it is most likely #3.

But like I said, it is still very hard to tell from your photo. So try a couple more applications of ScratchX, and we will go from there!

      Hello all,

Kelly it might be better to take a picture in the open away from shadows and reflections, it might help Tim view the area a bit better.

        Hi Tim,

I'll try to get a pic in sun. Weather prophets are calling for rain and clouds next 4 days.

Will try #83 and or SX and see what happens. Surface is very smooth to touch. Can not feel a thing. From 1-2 feet away cannot see anything, nice and black.

BTW my sister and husband pull a 24 foot camper behind that Ford V-10. Just don't ask them what it costs to fill up!

          Hey Kelly,

I know what it costs to fill up the V10, trust me!!!

Anyway, from the picture, the spot looked isolated to that one area. But if it is in more than one area, then I am afraid, the news may not be good.

            Thanks for your help Tim!!
Weather stinks for the next two days. They are calling for 2-5 inches of rain by Fri.

Since I have been usind DC 1 and SX there is no wax on hood so I put some of that ShiningMonkey carnauba on hood. I know it's not Megs!! Did not want to waste the good stuff on the rain!

Still learning the digi camera thing. We had to greatly enlarge the pic to see the spots. Will try again Sat.
