  • Getting ready to detail my car

Hi, new to the boards. Read alot and learned alot from you guys.

I've had my new car for about 4 months now. 2005 Acura RSX Type S Black.

I'm starting to see alot of swirls on my car. Since the car is still new should I go ahead and buff the car?

Here what I was planning on doing...

    -Wash and dry car
    -Clay with this Link
    -Wash and dry again
-Buff with #82 (#82 is a polish or machine glaze?)
    -Then wax with NXT wax

If I'm doing it all wrong please tell me what do use thanks

#80 Speed Glaze would be a good suggestion for removing swirls, thats something you might want to look into.

2 thin coats of NXT is also a good suggestion rather than 1 coat.

everything ive mentioned is something ive learned just from reading in this forum. its full of information. just search around.

    take care and Welcome.

Watch me go crazy silly fresh.

Welcome! From what I understand #82 is the same abrasiveness as #80 but contains no fillers unlike #80 which does contain fillers. I really love #80 with my pc. I have not used #82 yet so I cannot speak for that. Your at the right place and looks like your going to use some nice products. Cant wait to see some pictures.

        Hi sinitry23.......Welcome to MOL!

        #82 is classified as a cleaner/polish.

The instructions say that it's ok for hand use, but I've never tried it that way yet.

It might work ok for you, but if not, then I would try ScratchX, or maybe ColorX.

SX is a hand applied cleaner, and CX is a combination of cleaner/polish/ & wax.

SX is the stronger of the two.

          # 80 is a tad stronger of the two. It's rated at a "4" on the scale, and #82 is rated at a "3".
