Paging 2hotford!!

Hey Tim.
Took a hard look at hood today. Looks like the spots are still there.
Maybe a little less noticable. This car was a road warrior. It is clearcoat. Could it be it was blasted my all those miles?
Went to parts store today and saw Mirror Glaze Fine cut cleaner #2. What do you think of trying that?? Surface is smooth as glass.
It's been rain hard here. 3 more inches last night. car still beads!!

If the spots are still there after trying the ScratchX, the spots may be deeper in the clear coat. When you say blasted, I assume you mean that because of the amount of time on the road, it could be sand pits etc..? If so, that is possible. But if some came off with the DC#1, then they are not pits. It is starting to sound more like some kind of industrial fallout.

OK let's start over, tell me everything you have tried on the paint. Have you found a way to take a picture of the marks? Try placing your camera in the "P" mode, iso to auto, turn the flash off, and then stand back and use the zoom to focus on the spots. Place a towel on the paint close to the spots so the camera has something to lock in on. Once the camera is in focus, take the shot. If you have Photoshop, enlarge the picture to 100%. This should give you a close up of the pits that you can post.

If ScratchX by hand did not do it, #2 Fine Cut Cleaner by hand will not do it either.

I really need to see a picture of what is going on. When you look really close at the spots, can you describe as close as possible to what they look like?

Here is what I have done so far:
SX by hand and orbital buffer 5 times each
DC1 by hand and same buffer 5 times each
Meguiars cleaner wax once by buffer

Got ticked so washed and tried out NXT paste on wifes car!
Letting it setup while I type this. Been long time since I used paste. Should look good. NXT was put on top of DC 3.

Getting dark now will attempt photo after church tomorrow.
The car saw a lot of road. I meant various things hit the front of the car "sandblasted".

might even need to break down and have some one that knows what to do with a rotery hit those spots for you.

as a side note, when I saw paging 2hotford, I couldn't help but think of a spot light showing the V-10 in the sky...our version of the bat signal!!!

I have to be more careful.........a neighbors cat jumped on my truck and lets just say if a cat slips off a #21ed Truck fast enough they don't aways land on thier feet, and thats all my attorney said I'm allowed to say about the situation.

If a cat ventures out of its yard and onto a vehicle protected with #21, it does so at its own risk!
