  • # 2 Polish - Hard to remove

I'm running into a weird problem today.

I am cleaning a white Acura using the DA buffer.

I am finding the #2 polish very difficult to remove.

I have done this procedure before, and don't remember having this problem.

But when I wipe it off with a micro-fine, it's almost like there is a greasy residue remaining, with some of the product not even coming off!

I first thought that I put too much on, but tried it lightly on another spot with the same results.

Coud the product be too old? (It's probably 3 years old.)

    Any other suggestions?

    Part II

Well, it must be something I'm doing wrong with the PC.

I went back and applied manually with a pad, with great results.

    It's a mystery!

I have had the problem with #2 as well but only when I apply too much product or let it set to long. Normally its easy to use.

Never used DC #2 yet, but some of Meguiar's pure polishes don't like a lot of friction when being applied with a machine.

I ran into the same problem with #81 a few times.

Well, 3 years could be pushing it for shelf life, and depending on temperature and whatnot, could be seeing some affects. That or you cleaning step didnt work as well as needed, or didnt get removed completly.

I think I might have used too much.

I hate to admit this, but I really enjoyed doing it manually!

So much so that, because I had some #3 paste wax left over, I did THAT manually too!

I'm a machine man for the most part, but applying a pure polish by hand is not that bad at all.
