  • Need answers ASAP..

Hey guys. Well I finally gave my Civic a full bath. First I washed with NXT soap, then I hit the entire car with the clay bar and quick detailer, then a layer of paint cleaner, then a layer of polish, then finally a layer of NXT liquid wax.

now my question is, I am taking it to a show tonight and it's raining and wet outside. if tonight when i go to drop my car off for the show, it's still raining, and the car gets wet, what should I do to clean it up for the show on saturday?

should i just dry it with a WW and let it be? should i dry it and get some NXT quick detailing spray on it, or try and put another coat of wax down before the show on saturday?

to be remindd, the last coat of NXT wax was put down last night at 7:30. so it had all night and today to cure.

let me know what the professional's think

    I'm not proffessional but this is what I would do;
By the way will the car be driven there or will it be transported there? It will get quite dirty if you drive it in the rain.

Have you tried QEW sometime? It's a carwash that you can use without hosing the car off. I would try that, there is alot of info about QEW on autopia.
I would not just dry it, becouse it could scratch your paint (and you will be llike ) even if the Civic is transported on a trailer.

I am facing a similar situation with a show tomorrow. I plan to do exactly what I have done in the past. Hit it with quick deatiler. There is a detailer in the NXT line that you could try as well.

      Best of luck,

I guess it depends on how dirty it gets and what your options are. Sometimes there can be a lot of dirt in the air and after raining you car can be covered with dirt spots from the rain, if this is the case and you have the option to wash it, then wash it to remove the dirt safely.

If it's not to dirty, then use some microfiber and some Quick Detailer or Speed Detailer to wipe it down.

After you get it clean, if you have time apply a thin coat of wax, or even our spray wax, nothing looks like a just waxed car.

hell no, no trailor queen here. it is going to be driven to the show. i'm only going about 15 to 20 minutes. but i figured if the roads are wet, water will be flying up left and right.

i do have a bottle of the new NXT quick detailing spray, along with a few bottles of the quick detailer.

i'm just pissed ispent all week detailing for it to rain on the day before i drop the car off. the wax will still be present correct, even if it does rain and get wet correct?

            mike,

the options for washing again are not an option. i won't have any kind of access to a hose, bucket, etc. etc. at the show.

as far as the quick detailer, i have a bottle of the nxt. i'm hoping the roads and all dry up before i have to leave tonight at 6:45.

i guess i'll take the advice, and just hit it over with a quick detailing spray or maybe a quick wax. i will more then likely have time to apply another thin layer of wax, if you guys think that is my best bet. right now though, it's very very shiney.

                  This solution is very simple.

Call a licensed professional detailer to meet you at the show (or just outside the gates). Since you have already done most of the work you wanted done for the car, all you would need is a simple exterior wash. I have done this numerous times for a few show savvy clients of mine. Hell even if it isn’t raining, the car is going to get dirty enough going 15-20 mins away. The cost of this should be no more than $30. If your that serious about this show, I think this is your best bet.

                    Good Luck!

If you've never used one of our spray waxes, give the below two threads a read and if can, pick up one of our spray waxes, either one, and one of our Even Coat Applicator pads to apply it and give it a whirl after wiping the car down first with a quick detailer.

It will give your car that just waxed look you're looking for.

Well that is the a good idea but I'm on a very tight budget this month (just bought a house) and until settlement is over, I dont want to spend a lot of money on un-needed stuff such as a professional detailer. i'm not saying it isn't going to get dirty I already know that.

I'm going to take MIke's advice and quick detail it, and then pick up some NXT spray wax and hit it with that a few hours before the show starts saturday morning.

                      thanks mike

Ok, good luck with the show and tell us how it went. Washing and detailing your car is just like some kind of raindance, it always starts raining when i detail the car, at least it seems like that

yeah it's either a ran dance or a dance to cause dirrehera in a bird. i figured one of the two would happen.
