    i didn't know the best way to get rid of this. hopefully you can tell him how to fix this.

    APC+ 4/1 might help.

    But it looks like it might take a lot of scrubbing to remove it.

      Some APC and a stiff brush. I think that is that spray-on "hardcoat" type dressing that has just dried out and become discolored. I would just tell him to cover his electrical connections and make sure he limits the time the APC sits on the surface of the aluminum. It's gonna take some serious scrubbing, but the APC should take care of it.

        Paint or varnish remover. Or remove the cover and have it bead blasted.

          Hey,

          That cover looks like it received a glaze coat of a clear paint. They do make a special clear paint for that purpose. But if you use the wrong paint, it will yellow from the heat. I agree with Joe, varnish remover or bead blasted.

            I'll have to go with bead blast. That looks pretty bad. They could always have it powder coated, which would look better than even cleaning it up.
