  • What to use with a orbital polisher

    Hey,
Started using a Sears 7" orbital. Finally got over the fear of burning paint like I did with a rotary years ago. But a nice mark in my Stang
Now I have used DC123 for years . Can I still use, apply DC1 and 2 with the orbital?? Can not wait to try my new can of Tech wax.

I plan on mastering this before getting a DA. Maybe Christmas?
    Thanks to all!!!

All I have is a 10" Craftsman OB.

I would apply the products by hand, then use the OB with a terry bonnet to take off. Saves the arm quite a bit.

DC #1 does well with an orbital, but I'm not sure about DC #2.

An orbital is a low speed, no torque machine, and it may be that DC #2 will work with it.

But if may gum up on the surface if there's too much friction from the orbital.......It's just one of those try and see procedures.

      Good luck!

I've been using DC#1, DC#2, and #26 paste wax with my orbital buffer for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems. i would suggest doing one panel at a time. You want to apply the product and as soon as you are done buff the product off. then move on to a new panel. The wax is the only stuff I leave on. The cleaner, and polish can be difficult to remove if you let it sit and dry up.

          Using Random orbital buffer

I use a 10' buffer to apply everything from cleaner to polish to wax. Provides a much more even application and saves alot of time and muscle. Never had a problem with burning paint.

DC1 and DC2 will work fine with an orbital.

If you want to apply NXT with an orbital, i would suggest getting the liquid version

can foam bonnets be purchased for an 9-10 orbital like they can for a pc 7424, such as cutting pad, polishing pad, finishing pad, all i have been able to find a re mf bonnets tc bonnets, wool, and one foam bonnet, but not sure what garde it is for, cutting, polishing or finishing...

              thanks...

Meguiar's has the X4008 Gold Class Foam Finishing Bonnet for 9"-10" orbital buffers.

They don't have polishing or cutting bonnets because this type of machine doesn't have the speed or power to do any significant cutting or leveling no matter what kind of bonnet you use.

Big orbitals are OK for products that you simply apply and remove. Products that must be worked require the power of a DA polisher like the G-100A or a rotary.
