    Hello all,

Just a quick question, I don't want to "cut" the paint and it seems there are differing thoughts on #82 can I ask what it is exactly and where it goes in the scheme of things i.e. under wax, over polish?

    Thanks
    Bryan

#82 is by far my favorite product to apply with my makita! It is NOT a pure polish in which it has cleaning agents in it. With a W8000 and a rotary it will remove extreme light scratches and light cobweb scratches easily. There is not much cutting power to 82. It leaves a deep wet look that is ready for waxing.

Looks even better after #81 is applied to it.

OK I guess......Vision gets a little blurred though.

I get a few PM's here and there, just before Z time.

I usually use #82 for my own cars, it doesn't contain a glaze which hide defects like #80, so if you want perfection #82 is the way to go topped with M21, NXT or #16 is simply stunning !

That's exactly the way I was thinking about going, with the addition of NXT spay wax after the weekly wash.

#80 will remove defects as well as #82. I just find the oils make #80 a little easier to work with.

#80 is easy to work with, but it takes me a little extra effort to remove it, compared to #82.

For fine polishing, I now prefer #82.

                      Hey,

                      Just to chime in....

Meguiar's Swirl Free Polish is a little less aggressive compared to #80 Speed Glaze. Overall, #80 is a little easier to work with the rotary buffer as it will stay "wet" a little longer, providing longer buffing times. If one is using the PC, then the #80 will remove swirl marks easier than #82.

Sometimes, you will come across a finish that will not finish out with the #80. In those cases, one should then use the #82 to bring the finish to its maximum potential. Topping it with #81 Hand Polish is step I have been advocating for years. It will add a little richness to the finish.

Finally, #82 will leave a more clear surface compared to the deep rich look of the #80. I have used gallons of both products and like them equally for specific situations!

                        Morning everyone,

So how easy is #82 to apply by hand?

                        Thanks

I have never tried 82 by hand. The bottle says for Da orbital and rotary only. If using your hand, try #9.

It's just that I have #82 and I'd like to use and at moment I don't have a DA.

                            Thanks

I believe it can be done, you will just need to work very hard. I believe ScottWax used to do everything by hand, maybe he can chime in.
