Wash,Clay,Polish, and Wax at different days

While I'm still waiting for clay, I was thinking if I could washed and clayed my car the first day. Then, use Speed Detaier the next day before I polish and wax? Since it is so hot, I've been washing my car around 8:00 a.m. in the morning. My car is parked in the garage.

Also, I plan on touching up my paint with a paint pen from paintscratch.com . However, it recommends using rubbing compound to even out the blobs, etc. I don't trust this item lol. Do you guys think I could cay and use scratchX instead?

When ever I touched up paint using a magic pen or touchup paint bottle I always looks touched up. Some people like this product from Langka that chemically levels the paint but I never tried it.

What I do when I don't have time to do a full detail in one day is wash, clay, polish and wax a section. So say I want to do the front one day, the back another day and middle a third day. So I would wash the entire car, clay the section I'm working on and polish and wax. The most I've done was 2 days, front one day, back the other but you can stretch it out as much as you want, no rule that says you have to do it all in one day. What I would not do is wash and clay one day and the next day worry about if I'm polishing dirt into the paint with a buffer and to me, cleaning the car with spray detailer is more consuming and expensive than it's worth, just rewash the car.

I am not sure what the paint pen is like, but if they say it leaves globs, then it probably isnt best to use it right on the surface. A tiny brush, or toothpick can be used depending on the size of the scratch/pits.. try and avoid the globs from the start.
