    Hi,

    What do I need?

Please specify the machine the attachements, the pads, and speed. I know I don't want anything rotary or dangerous. Please tell me what to get that is relatively safe, won't leave swirls, and that I can use with a low speed (at least to start)

I finished my first car of 4 all by hand.

    On my second,

I have my car washed twice

    Clayed

and Cleaned with Deep Crystal #1.

All by hand. I think I am ready to do #2 by machine.

I want the safest newbie machine. Essentially don't set me up with a 100,000 RPM rotary buffer with a sandpaper pad

Also, do I still need to do edges by hand and then tape them off with blue masking tape? I am not sure about bringing a power buffer to any edges.

I do not have any of the professional products.

Can I use Deep Crystal #1 and #2 with the machine instead of Speed Glaze ?

I'm not familiar with their Deep Crystal products but if you get the G-100 kit, get yourself a bottle of #80 and #83 at the same time. The #80 is a mild polish, good for removing minor swirls on softer paints. #83 is more aggresive and is better for deeper swirls and harder paints that #80 couldn't do. Pickup some micro fiber towels while you are at it. While waiting for your order to come in, read up on how to buff with Mike Pillips excellent article on how to do it on this forum. #80/#83 are pure polishes, you still have to put on a wax or sealant but most people here either use Meg's Gold Class or NXT. I like NXT because it's very quick and easy and has a very nice shine and slick feel to it, some people like Gold Class better, some like the profesional products like #21 Sealant or #26 Hi Tech wax, it's just a matter of trying them out and see which one suits you best, that's why they make different waxes, each has different characteristics..
