  • Few Questions

To get all the previous wax and stuff off the car, I wash it with Dawn soap right? After I do that, I plan on claying, then applying Scratch X w/ a foam applicator as a paint cleaner to clean and remove swirls all over the car. Then DC #2 w/ a even coat applicator. Then NXT liquid wax w/ an even coat applicator. Then finally Rejex on the front bumper and areas low to the ground to make the bugs slide off as well as protect for the winter. How does this sound?

I have two more questions as well. I love the new car scent, I was wondering if there were any air fresheners I can buy that give that smell that I could mount on the dash? It doesn't have to be Meguiar's products either.

My other question is about my tools. I have a Craftsman tool set w/ chrome sockets. Will Meguiar's all metal polish remove like small dots of rust from the sockets?

    Thanks in advance...

You don't have to wash with Dawn to remove previously applied products, simply applying ScratchX will remove them plus make your paint look good whereas detergents have a tendency to dull paint down.

Air Fresheners? There seems to be a lot on the market.

NXT All Metal Polysh to remove rust spots? Might, if you put a little passion into your work.

I'm looking for a specific air freshener for the car w/ the new car scent. Anybody else have ideas?

Any other way to remove rust from chrome? Steel wool doesn't work, already tried it...

Um, all I can say is DO NOT use Steel Wool on your paint or chrome!

Try some CLR or LimeAway and something gentle like Terry Cloth to remove rust. When done, ask someone how to polish the chrome. I don't know.

          Hey,

Using either Meguiar's NXT All Metal Polysh or the M-2805 All Metal Polish from the professional series with a piece of 100% cotton terry towelling should remove a lot of the surface rust. It may take some effort and a few applications, but it should help.

i honestly dont think theres such thing as a "new car smell" yes they have it listed out there as the air freshners. to me if you want a nice smell in your car. shampoo the carpets, floor mats and seats. that when done will leave a nice smell in your car.

Watch me go crazy silly fresh.
