  • #9Swirl Remover 2.0 or Swirl Free Polish #82

Good day fellow detailers. I have a simple question to ask, I think? I always wondered what the difference was between #9 and #82 polishes. They both have the same cutting ability of 3, and they both are polishes, so where do they differ? Does one offer more oils? What are your experiences with the two products and what do you recommend.

I currently have #80 Speed Glaze and was just wondering if #82 / #9 would be a good investment for future details for my clients. Look forward to hearing from yall.

#82 and #9 have the same agressiveness, but I believe #9 breaksdown faster than #82. ( Correct me if I'am wrong !)

#82 is a pure polish thats leaves a very reflective finish while #80 is polish/glaze and sealant all in one and is a favorite amongst new car dealers who only go over the vehicle once before delivery to the customer.

I personally find #82 a good product and is one of my favorite polishes before applying a wax/sealant.

Sounds like #82 is a great pure polish. I have #81 Hand Polish and I love the stuff. Easy on, easy off. Maybe I'll have to get an #82 bottle to try out myself. Thanks for the reply.

"#9? or #82? what are you opinions?"

        Hey,

Just to chime in here and to clarify/correct a couple of things.

Firstly, Meguiar's #82 Swirl Free Polish and #9 Swirl Remover are rated the same but the #82 is slightly more aggressive. Meg's #82 is not a pure polish (pure polishes are: #3, #5, #7, #81). Both #9 and #82 use diminishing abrasives that must be worked/buffed correctly in order to get the performance out of the products. Moreover, I have found that #82 is slightly easier to use with a rotary buffer.

Many people do like to use Meg's #80 Speed Glaze which is slightly more aggressive than either #9 or #82. Plus it contains a healthly dose of TS Oils and has a paintable polymer. Meg's #80 will remove swirls easier than #9 or #82.
