Wax: Gold Class or DC#3

Hi:

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I haven't been able to find an answer.

After I use Deep Crystal Cleaner (1) and Polish (2) what would be the difference between using Deep Crystal Wax (#3) vs. Gold Class Wax? I've been using the Gold Class with nice results and am running low - just wondering what I should reorder.

FYI, the vehicle is a few years old and white (I know it's one of Mike's favorite colors).

Could I alternatively use NXT wax after Deep Crystal 1 & 2 (I use NXT on my newer clear coat vehicles so I always have a supply.)

FYI, I use liquid products with the PC buffer.

I'm not sure if most people could tell a difference side by side on black paint between Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax and Gold Class Wax because they both work so well at creating a clear, reflective finish.

Like Mike mentioned, on paint in excellent condition, it would be difficult to see much of a difference between the two products. The one area where I see a slight difference is in the darkening effect on dark paints. In that case, the Gold Class leaves a darker, slightly more rich finish, especially on black! Just IMHO.

Since you mentioned you have NXT, you can use that as well after the DC 1 &2. Actualy, you can use any wax Meguairs makes after DC 1&2, and expect great results. Just a matter of which one catches your eye.

Gold Class will give you a little more gloss imo. Personally, the DC3 is one of my favorite waxes, especially for a carnauba product, and it is a great value and easy to find. I also like the water beading action of DC3, and the protection is very good. If you prefer, you could also use NXT as you mentioned. My vote would be the DC3. It's value, performance, and protection is often overshadowed on the forum, but it is tried and true. I also imagine that it will still be around, while some other waxes will come and go.

Better to have lots of choices than none at all.. even if it takes a little time to get the hang of it. Meguiars has a product for just about every want, need, and situation, so that makes for a pretty big list.

Sounds like a good plan. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I use what looks good to me and provides the benefits that I desire. Everyone is different. Like Mike's signature states - "find something you like and use it often."

Yup. I agree with this. But the second, lesser known part of this statement is: "When you are running out of something, it's a great opportunity to try something new."

I LOVE trying new stuff and my shelves (probably like most of us) show it!
