  • Polishing Glass????

Does anyone no a good way of getting rid of minor scratchs, pits, and swirls in glass? I've heard using 0000 Steel wool with a lubricant works wonders. Has anyone tried this?

    Cheers!

I believe you need to use a special glass polish to remove those types of defects. But if you do polish them out, you'll be left with some optical distortions.

I did this (0000 steel wool) with a mild Dupont compound on Toyota glass with no scratches to show for it, but I can't guarantee that it won't scratch some other brand of glass.

Read this and you'll understand why rubbing steel wool over glass will not remove scratches, pits and swirls out of your glass windows.

The only product out on the market that I know for removing light scratches in glass is made by the Eastwood company.

          Thanks for correcting me Mike.

I skimmed over his post thinking he was referring to water spots or something.

It pays to read a little slower sometimes!
