    That is amazing!

I wound up having to do a repaint after an egg hit my car one time.......Course, it was in the middle of winter, and the protection might have wore off by then.

sorry to hear that ur mustang got egged man... it must ****... glad to hear that youve fixed it...its ok bro about not answering my question...

so this is what im to use on my mustang:
      Wash
      Clay
      Scratch X
      DC#2
      NXT Tech WAX
      12 hrs later
      GOld class wax

that should shine it up pretty tight huh

hey man after i wax the mustang first with NXT tech wax im going to wait for 12 hours...what if between those 12 hours i get dirt on the car...do you wash it again before doing the second wax to make sure no debris is on...or just blow the dirt away since it should come off fairly quick with the nxt tech wax on...

hey murr, thanks for all that info it was helped me clear many things...you say that the applicator pads you dont wash, but you do rinse the pads with water right at least when youre done?

also i hadnt mentioned this about my paint... once when i had recently got my car, i awoke to find a lot of white dots alll over the car...i never knew what they were and well i got it repainted at the dealership and well they did a bad job i guess because the paint from the hood chips off in little pieces...theyre very little and not much...i can still wax over it right with no problem??

Not trying to speak for someone else here, but if it were me, I would use a QD on it before you wax it again.

Unless it was rained on, or the car got wet somehow, and then I would wash it again with a quality car shampoo.

I appreciate different perspectives.. Rusty dont you have to wait about a day or so to apply QD and like isnt it bad to apply it right before or after a wax... im pretty new to detailing...this is actually my first posts..

            You make a good point!

I was presuming that you were going to let the wax cure for at least 12 to 24 hours first.

If you are going to apply a second coat right away, then I don't think I'd use a QD at all, but if the the car is dusty, then a light washing would be a good idea.

I've heard of some pro detailers on the board that like to give a car a pressure wash of sorts before waxing, just to blast away any detailing dust that might be left on the paint.

hey Rusty, i think theirs a misunderstanding... i AM going to wait 12-18 max hours before applying the other coat of wax to the car for maximum protection...

ok so this is what i think youre saying, I am going to apply the first coat of wax, then 12-18 hours later i apply QD and immediately after i apply the second coat...isnt this bad?? or i might be misreading your post cuz i think this is what youre trying to say...

What I meant, was for you to wait for your wax to cure 12 to 24 hours before you attempt to use a QD on it.

It's not a good idea to mist & wipe a QD on a freshly waxed finish, since it might remove some of your wax.

But after the wax has cured 12 to 24 hours, then it's ok to use a QD before you apply the second coat of wax.

I hope I'm on the same page with you here.

If you are going to wait at least 12 hours between each coat of wax, it will be OK to wipe the car down with a QD to remove any dust.

thx. sounds like they may be little rock chips? i have little white dots (rock chips) on the very front of my hood. i wax right over them and have had no problems.

Just to answer your other question, I wash the foam pads by hand with Dawn or whatever brand I have laying around. I work the Dawn with a nail brush on the pad for a little bit, then rinse out a few times till the soapy water stops coming out. I am pretty sure they can be machine washed as well...

As far as the rock chips, you can wax and polish over then, but I wouldnt push down to hard around the edges...

Definately sounds like you should havea good shine.

How exactly do you apply the DC#1?
                            What quantity do you use?
How hard do you work it into the finish?
How long do you work it in before wiping off?
I know you are not supposed to let it dry, but it seems to dry pretty fast with the rubbing.
One more, circular or back and forth when applying? What about when wiping off?
                            Thanks

As much as it takes to do the car.

                              About a medium-light pressure.

How long do you work it in before wiping off?
Wipe it on and then wipe it off.

Sounds like your rubbing too long, or the paint is too warm.

Either for both. Circular is easier to get complete coverage.

                              Thanks
