    These are all good suggestions,

If Red82 wants, he can get some NXT Tech Wax and also give that a try, either apply a couple of thin coats to the hood and then inspect, or try the cleaner and polish again using the methods I outlined in this thread then follow that with two thin coats of NXT Tech Wax.

I think that as long as the paint has all of its integrity, that we can see Red82 through to success

Thank you all for the help and suggestions. I do not think that it is a problem with the paint. In the direct sunlight the paint looks awesome, but as soon as it gets into indirect light, I see the shading, hazing, and blemishes (that seem to match my application strokes).

Just for my clarification....If I have too much wax, or have applied the polish incorrectly, will just the NXT wax fix the problem if applied correctly, or do I need to strip off the existing wax with the cleaner, and then apply the NXT.

Also, is it bad that the Red pigment comes off and onto the applicator pad and towel, or is that a normal phenomenon?

Let me know, and thank you for your help and consideration with my problems !

      Bingo.

Yes, I would apply two thin coats, back to back, if you have time and the car will be left in the garage, then apply the second coat the next day. This doesn't mean apply the first coat of wax and leave it on until the next day, it means apply the first coat of wax, allow it to dry until it swipes clear, then remove it, then leave the car alone for up to about 12 hours and then apply the second coat the same way, (thin, even, well-worked in application), allow to dry till it swipes clear and then remove.

      NXT Tech Wax Cure Time

Yes this is normal. Actually, when people work on clear coats using a paint cleaner, they are removing clear paint, (just like you are removing pigmented paint), but because it's clear... they don't see it.

Try a section of the hood removing everything with the cleaner, then re-polishing and rewaxing like Mike said. Then try a section just reapplying the DC Wax in a very thin coat. Then compare the results. This will tell you what steps are required to improve the hood.

I have never used the DC cleaner so I don't know how hard it is to work with. The DC Polish is very easy to work with, it is very similar to #81. I'm guessing the problem is either with the cleaner or the wax. Was the hood warm when you applied the wax? That could be the issue.

If your paint is single stage, pigment on the pad and towel is normal. I didn't think the DC Cleaner had abrasives in it though. I suppose the chemical cleaners can cause a release of pigment, but Mike would be better able to answer that one.

The Deep Crystal Paint Clearer is a chemical cleaner only and looks, feels and works much like the Deep Crystal Polish as far as application and removal goes.

The combination of chemical cleaners, application material and the physical action taking place on the surface will remove paint/pigment

DC#1 is one of the more easier cleaners to work with, that I have ever used.
