  • clay detailing

    Hello,
I am going to try the quick clay detailing system that I never done that before but I will try this weekend.
    I have a couple of questions :

1). The clay come with it, how many car can do before I have to replace it for normal use.

2). I don't know why some other site say, wash and dry the car before you apply. Washing the car before apply make good sence but why have to dry it, since you have to wet it again.

    Thanks !

    well...

    1) depends on how dirty your car is... It is usualy best to cut the clay into 3-4 pieces, so if you drop a piece, you dont waste all the clay. One of those pieces can easily do a car in average condition, even more in clean condition. The spray will usualy run out before the clay.

    2) I give a little wipe, so no big water spots, but I dont give it a good drying. I rinse the car down during claying to keep from drying, and a good rinse after claying, then drying.

Plenty of people on here use soapy water. A little higher soap concentraion than usual I think. Your bottle of QD will do one car just fine. You will have to judge how much is left for 2-3 cars down the road.

I just buy an economy size bottle of the Quick Detailer. I have heard rumor that the Nxt Detailer isnt quite as good with the clay, so I am sticking with Quick Detailer for claying for now.

You can order the mild profesional clay from Meguairs, or would have to check a PBE store in your area. If you wanted to stay with soapy water, that would stop getting you bottles of QD each time.

          Thanks you !
Is not the money, I just want to make sure that soap water will also work, just in case I run out while I am doing it.

If you think you'll run out just stop by a store and pick up another bottle of the spray stuff.

You can use soap and water without a problem though. It's what I do.
