  • Detailing a VW Jetta -- HELP Please!

I got a VW Jetta GLS as my first car. I'm interested in giving it this "NXT treatment" that I've been reading about. I have used the "Armor All" products a few times but I want to move to something better and I heard on a VW forum that Meguiar's makes great products. I've used the online product selector but I'd prefer some suggestions. Here is my goal -- seems realistic to me -- for an Silver 03 Jetta; I want my car to shine like those Mini Coopers that I saw on this forum. I have a few pictures, they aren't of the best quality though:

So, what do I need for the NXT treatment?

      Hi dvstudio...Welcome to MOL!

      Here's my suggestions:
      • Wash with Gold Class shampoo
      • Clay with Quik Clay Detailing System
      • Clean & polish with #82 Swirl Free Polish
      • Finish with a coat or two of NXT wax

        Plans sounds good to me.

What meguiars detailing products do you have? Do plan to do your work by hand or machine?

Thanks for the suggestions thus far. I don't have any Megiuar's products as I just learned about them via a VW forum. In fact, I haven't even had the car for two weeks yet. I would rather do things by hand unless I can get a machine for cheap. I'll probably get those products today at Discount Auto when I'm done studying.

                Nicely detailed AWP20V!

Silver is hard to detail sometimes.

Thanks for the compliments!!! Yes, Silver is hard as it will never have depth like the darker colors.

I do find however that the NXT darkens the paint enough to give it a little reflection.
