I bought sattelite radio and the tuner comes with a stand that has an adhesive bottom. The instructions say to stick it to the dash so that you can dock the receiver. Will this ruin the dash? When I decide to remove the stand, will the adhesive come off of the dash and leave it looking the same way it did before, or will it forever be tacky/discolored? I haven't put the stand on the dash yet in fear of this.

Any experiences that anyone has had would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Here's what I think...

The longer this adhesive is on the dash, the greater the potential for it to change the appearance of the dash.
    • * This could be the adhesive causing the problem
      * This could be the pressure/physical contact of this on the dash overtime
      * This could be the sunlight affecting the area around the docking station but not the area under the docking station.

And/or a combination of all of the above.

    Is there any other options?

You should find a place in your car to mount it. A good custom audio shop could even fiberglass it so it flows with the rest of the car. Ive been toying with the idea of mounting one on the backside of a visor or a flip down bracket from the ceiling. Or you could go the easy way and buy a cd player that will operate it. A friend of mine stuck it to his dash and still has a spot that stands out.
