    A few questions?

    MPPC is being discontinued?

I would like to try DCPC using the orbital buffer,is that OK! the directions on the bottle don't say?

The buffer pad was used only one time with the MPPC?

Could I use the same pad with the new bottle of DCPC,if it could be applied with the orbital buffer?

By DCPC do you mean Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner? You can apply it with an orbital, but may experience some holograms in the paint.

Yeah, the Deep Crystal system isnt really meant for the PC, and you really wont get any benefits out of the DC#1 with the PC.

Now, if you meant DACP, then yes, you can do that. DACP (#83) or Mirror Glaze (#80), are best for the PC. #80 being milder.

Is this right? I thought DC1 was a chemical cleaner...didn't think there was much risk of holograms...especially by orbital.

Well, the problem is that DC#1, and most consumer products, are meant to break down by hand, and so with a PC, it can break down too quickly, so you are dry-buffing, which isnt good. The holograms are caused by the pad having no lubrication, not by abrasives in the product.

            Yes
I was talking about the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

            and

Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner ( being discontinued)

I liked the MPPC,so what would be comparable to it.

Well, if you have the PC, have you used any of the #80, or #83 products? They are meant for use with the PC, I would start there if you havent before.

I have used DCPC many times with an orbital, or a DA polisher with great results. I'm speaking from my own experience here, but I've never had any problems with holograms, or lack of lubricity (Dryness) with this product.

Before I joined the forums a few years ago, I used to use it with the DA/W-7006 pad combo at the 5 setting, and I could buff & buff the same area for a good minute or two before I removed the residue.

(I don't use this pad with it anymore, as the red cutting pad can cause a little dullness to the finish when used with a DA........It's not noticeable at a distance, or certain angles though.)

This is my own opinion, but if the MPPC has dried out, then I don't see a problem with using it for DCPC, as long as you take a brush and clean the surface throughly before using it.

Here are a few pictures of my neighbor's car that I buffed out before I had a computer........I first used MPPC with the DA/W-7006 pad (5 setting), then I polished it up with DCPC (Same pad combo & speed), before topping it with Medallion Premium paint Cleaner.

I tried the DCPC on my car with an orbital. It broke down real quickly and I got some bad holograms. The PC got it out though.

The DCPC formula has been changed a few times from what I was told.

The original formula was my favorite, but the next time I bought a bottle of it, I noticed that the color & smell was different, and it didn't look the same on my paint either.

I called Meguiars and to complain about it, and the rep told me that a lot of people had made the same complaint......He also said that they were changing the formula back to the original (And I have a bottle of it, but I have never opened yet).

Maybe the formula has changed again?

But for the record, all of the cleaners, cleaner/polish products that I have ever used in the Meguiar's line have had great lubricity to work with, except for GC Clear Coat Prep & Swirl Reducer, which has been discontinued.
