Welcome to the forum!
Yes, DC#1 will remove old wax from your car.
When you are in the process of wiping off the DC, you will notice a squeaky sound, and that sound means that you have no wax protection left.
Be sure not to let the product dry though.
Meguiar's cleaners & polishes do not have to dry in order for them to work properly.Last edited by rusty bumper; Jul 25, 2005, 01:36 PM.r. b.

I understand NXT contains cleaner and it will remove old wax.
But I am not convinced it remove old wax, i believe it merely dissolve the old wax and the old wax will still be on the paint except it is now mixed with new wax.
Am I right?
So I think it is better to use pure wax remover.

The purpose of using DC #1 is so you can remove any other contamination that might be present on the paint, as well as removing the old wax too.
You may be right about NXT not removing the old wax and dissolving it in with the new, but that's not a bad thing if you're going for a second application a few hours after the first.r. b.
