Ok, I have done a lot of looking in the search thread and on both companies web site's. What I am trying to find out is what is the major difference - if any - between the Porter Cable 7424 and the Megs DA made by Porter Cable. I am asking because there is a SIGNIFICANT price difference and if they are essentially the same, I don't want to pay extra just because it is a Meguiar's product. Thanks for the help.

I believe the difference is that Meguiar's comes with a lifetime warranty whereas the same machine from anywhere else has no warranty. Definitely worth the extra money when it's a tool that is used every day.

You will get the correct backing plate with the Meguiars PC and I think one pad... both are made by porter-cable and both are high quality machines.Originally posted by toro1966

If you do go with the 7424 you will need to get the DA Velcro Buffing System sells for $32.95.Brandon

Actually, there's little difference between the list prices of the 7424 and the G-100.
Most people compare the street price of the 7424 with the list price of the G-100.
Many retailers discount the 7424 and some of them discount very deeply. But if you hunt around you'll find good deals on the G-100 too.
