  • How to remove Wax from mouldings

    Hi guys,

I got some wax on the moulding (impact strips) of my Black 3 Series BMW.

I'm wondering if there's a product I can use to remove the wax.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks!

    # 39.......

Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner is a tough cleaner that removes heavy dirt and grime. Great for cleaning and prepping all vinyl, plastic, rubber and urethane surfaces. Apply to vinyl tops, bumpers, plastic door panels, car and boat interiors, luggage and furniture.

Here's a post of mine from last week...

I used #39 on some rubber trim Saturday. My technique was to wet a toothbrush type of tool, tap out the excess water, and spray a little product on the brush before scrubbing the 1" trim (This is a great way to prevent the the product from running down the paint).

Once the product filled brush was applied, the dirt began foam up quickly. I would then begin to wipe the trim clean with a damp rag. After that, I would rinse the rag in a bucket of clear water to remove the dirt. By the time I was finished doing all of the trim, I had dumped 3 or 4 buckets of black water!..........The rubber trim was dry looking, but clean.

Next, I applied Gold Class Trim Detailer with a 1" makeup sponge........After it had a chance to set up, I then wiped off any excess residue that had made it's way onto the paint.

The trim looked as good as new after that.

    I hope this helps some.

Does the Gold Class Trim Detailer restore the trim, or does it sort of wear off like a tire dressing would?

This is a great product! really makes trim look great... I applied it about every two weeks to keep the look.

        Gold Class Trim Detailer

I use more than a small bottle (10oz) will supply me so I changed over to Tire & Trim Dressing Gel (32oz) this too works very well I give the edge to #38 (look and ease of application) over Gold Class Trim Detailer.

All of Meguiar's trim products should help to restore vinyl & rubber, but the effect will wear down after a while.

I always like to keep something on my trim like GB mentioned above.
