  • Sapped Lumina (here are the pics)

Well as asked here are some photos of my friends moms car. The sap was real bad and the car had some wierd surface scratches and even a hand print!!!

    sap befor

sap after. Paint was etched by the sap

a hand print in the paint this came out

scratches the driver side has this all over have no idea what caused it and ScratchX didnt work very well

close up of the etchings left by the sap

    I used:
    Nxt car wash
    bug and tar remover
    clay
    ScratchX
    DCS polish
    GC wax

Really think I needed a DA on this one but at least it is protected and sap wont cause further damage. Will attack this one again when i get my DA. The scratches looked more like cracks still pondering them. Any ideas as to what they are let me know.

Just a guess, but is that the top of the front fender next to the hood? If so, has the engine been worked on? Just a guess, but if the above two guesses are correct, then it looks like the kind of scratches a person leaning over the engine compartment would put in say if they were to do some extensive work to the engine?

Just a guess because of the look and location. They look too deep for not only scratchX but also a machine applied product. You should be able to improve so they are a lot less noticeable, but probably not completely remove them.

When will you be getting your dual action polisher? This looks like a job for M83 followed by M80, followed by wax.

      Those are some serious scratches.

Looks like a nasty, careless mechanic might have done that.

Those were the worst of them but similar scratches could also be found on the outer edge of the driver side doors. But yes that photo is of the hood area. Dont know when I am getting my DA hope to save up a lil to get one soon.
