  • what would you use

i am planning on detailing my grandfather's 77 cadilac limo and was wondering what products i should use on it??? it's a dark blue metalic color. i plan on claying it, cleaning with dc1, and either using dc2 or #7 for polish, and was thinking of either using #26 or nxt for the wax. that's all of the stuff i have available and was wondering which one's i should go with. the car is garaged kept and is probaly driven once a month. the paint has no swirls but has a light hazing to it. just looking to get a nice clear shine on it.

    thanks for any info

I would use dc1 for the haze dc2 to enrich color then go with the nxt wax. Since it is garage kept you probally wont have to clay!!!

With the products you have listed I would go with Jonje's suggestion... the deep crystal system is a great system NXT will really look good on the dark metallic!

Depending on what is causing the hazing, the claying could really help. Even if it is garage kept, after 30 years, plenty can get on the surface. It isnt an arm killer, so I'd definately start with it.

After that, the DC system will be great, and either wax will look great. I have heard #26 deepens dark colors, and Nxt looks great on metalic. May need to try both, see what catches your eye.
