When I use ScratchX and a Meg.yellow foam application pad, could I put the pad in a plastic bag and use it again a few days later on another part of the car.
Or do I need to wash the pad before I use it again.

What is the proper and safest way to wash the pads.

    Regards,
    Frankie

I have bee using scratchx alot here lately and what i do is run the pad under tap water and clean with dish detergent then rinse really well and let dry. I woulnt put it in a bag cause you will still get some drying and that will cause problems next go around.

      I agree with Jonje,

Never put a used applicator/buffing pad of any kind into a sealed bag. I tried that one time, but the pad molded and had to be thrown away........(Actually, I had just washed the pad, but I didn't let it air out enough before bagging it).

Always leave the top of the bag open if you are storing buffing pads......Clean or used.

I wash my hand pads in the washer with my terry detailing towels, but sometimes I like to hand wash them in Murphy's oil soap.......Just be sure to add a little white vinegar to the final rinse, as this will remove all traces of detergent.

At Meguiar's and at our home, we wash the foam applicator pads in the washing machine with hot water and Tide, then dry in the dryer.

Once out of the dryer store in a clean place away from airborne dirt. At Meguiar's we keep them in a clean box in the cupboard, in my garage I keep mine in a plastic roll-around utility cart with drawers purchased at target for about $30.00

That's the first time I've ever heard of anybody using the dryer for hand foam pads.

I would have thought they would have melted in one.
