It's crazy hot here in Indiana right now, heat Index is over 110 I think for the last two days and the temp has been around 100 and it's very humid, it looks like we have fog outside right now...
I know it's got to be crazy hot in AZ. as my father lives in Phoenix, but when it's hot here like it is right now, you just sweat like crazy even in the shade and the air is very stagnent.
I postponed a detail yesterday till this weekend, I heard just a little while ago it's supposed to be lower 80's by Wednesday and much drier!!!!
The weatherman told of an interesting statistic today. He said that more people die from heat related causes than from tornados, hurricanes, or floods combined in a given year.
It was a scorcher here today at 100 degrees, and tomorrow is supposed to eclpise that with a little more humidity to boot.
Where's a tropical storm when you need one!

Heat, I don't worry about it. I have only lost one windshield in 15 years, and it had a chip that had a small crack before I started. We just deal with it and move on. Typically, since we are more a commercial fleewashing operation, we will wash around 200 cars a day, but we are not too worried about preserving the wax and shine because most of them have never been polished waxed or any other steps of detailing.
Well, we had some big time storms roll through the State last night that brought in a nice cold front, it's in the 70's today and feels really dry outside, (no haze) almost need a jacket... haha...

What a relief...

Hey!........I need some of that.........Send it my way!
I always start washing my cars right as the sun starts to set. Although it doesn't feel any cooler, the sun's not punishing you with all that radiation energy. Plus the surface of the car doens't heat up because the whole car is in the shade.
WARNING! Eye protection must be worn when looking at my car in direct sunlight. Can cause temporary blindness.

Thats what I use to do. It makes sense to do it at that time but I want to be able to polish, wax my car.
I thought hot weather was about over with here, but it's supposed to make it close to 100* degrees here today!
The added heat, coupled with August humidity is a killer for sure!
An 8 year old boy collapsed and died this weekend from the heat & humidity. I think he was playing organized football (Pee Wee or something) when he passed out.
Thankfully, temps are going to feel like Fall by next Tuesday.
Hey Rusty,
We had a front move through yesterday and it's perfect here right now. It's close to 90 in my garage and the humidity is way lower and it feels great today. The humidity was getting old... Hope it gets your way pretty soon...

Thanks!
It's on it's way, but it's moving rather slow. It was supposed to be here Monday, but the forcast says It'll be here late Tuesday or Wednesday now.
I love a Canadian cold front this time of year. <----- It feels like a hot pepper here!

Can it be to hot to wash your car? I don't wash it in the sun but can a high air temp and cool water be hard on the paint (say with heat index 100+)? I have not washed my truck for 2 weeks because of the heat, still fairly clean (just dusty). I know I am suppose to drink lots of water but can my truck?
Here is our great weather 7/23/05:
Heat advisory in effect until 9 pm cdt Sunday.
Rest Of Today: sunny. Hot and humid. High in the upper 90s. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Heat index readings 100 to 112. Tonight: mostly clear. Low in the upper 70s. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Heat index readings 100 to 107 in the evening.
If it's just dusty, you should be using the body duster and QDing with Speed Detailer. That way there would be no need to wash.
The heat and humidity have been ridiculous here! The car holds up better to the heat than I do. I will not wash my car when the outside temp is above 90 degrees.
I usually wait until evening to wash my car. That way it is in the shade. This gets tricky, because if I wait too late, the humidity goes way up and the skeeters come out!
RamAirV1 Sunday: mostly sunny. Very hot and humid. High around 100. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 30 mph in the morning. Heat index readings 100 to 111. Sunday Night: mostly clear. Low in the lower 70s. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Heat index readings 100 to 104 in the evening. Monday: mostly sunny. Hot and humid. High in the mid 90s. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Heat index readings 100 to 102 in the afternoon.

What is it with skeeters and high humidity?
Those nasty black & white Tiger skeeters are popping up all around here!
They'll tare you up and have you for lunch if you're not wearing some kind of repellent.
