  • Meguiar's Product Matrix?

    Mike, (Mike Phillips)

Being an engineer, when dealing with all sorts of information that needs to be summarized, I use the Matrix approach where Rows and Columns help define the data.

So......... I was thinking. Does Meguiar's already have this type of sheet/s for their many various product lines? I feel that something like that would answer a lot of the typical questions (and of course help me too ). If you don't have one, do you think there should be one?

It would just be nice to have it as a quick reference for most of us that are just weekend waxers.

I don't think we have anything like this that encompasses all product lines.

A lot of people are always asking for a list of products that rates them by their aggressiveness and this too is very difficult because some products are for hand application only and some products are for machine application only and things like your applicator material or choice of buffing pad will dramatically change a products ability.

We have some wall charts, but they are specific either to a line, or to an industry. We have catalogs that list things by categories, but I don't think we have anything as you suggest and I think off hand it would be kind of difficult to assemble considering the number of product we offer.

And even though we have discontinued some items, a lot of people still have these products in their garages so they would want them included also in such a matrix.

    Not a project I want.

At our detailing classes, I do my best to keep it very simple for people as I know it can be very easy to overwhelm them...

    By Hand
    Wash
    Clay
    ScratchX
    Deep Crystal Polish
    Wax
    Maintain

By Machine (G100 Dual Action Polisher)
    Wash
    Clay
    M80 Speed Glaze
    Wax
    Maintain

We only have a few hours and both of the above approaches are time-proven to produce professional results, even better than most detail shops produce, especially the machine approach.

I don't do this too often... but in this case it's funny!

Well, it has crossed my mind doing this and when I (if) do, I will post it to get your comments (but not laughing ). I think it would be a good road map illustrating what to do when your car is mildlly in need of a quick detail, all the way to needing intensive care detailing. But as I do think it out, it doesn't all seem to be so complex, thanks to this site. Hope to be chatting again.

I actually made one that has all of the product numbers, names, numbers, and sizes for all of the professional line products for quick reference when oredering something. Was gonna do one for the consumer line too but havent gotten around to it yet.

Thanks Aurora40. I was trying to come up with some form of formatting/layout and what you show is a good approach. Thanks for the idea.
