    Hope you more experienced detailer
    can give me a accomendation.

My 2005 Mazda Tribute got over sprayed
    with interior latex paint yesterday.
I assume that a clay bar followed by cleaner.polish, wax, is the way to start on the painted surfaces but what
are your thoughts on the un-painted
cladding. Will clay completely remove the
paint from the plastic? I'm afraid using
any kind of solvent will not be kind to the plastic and show streaks ect. At this time
the cladding is bare- no dressing at all.

    Thx

I have had just such a problem sometime ago.... I clayed the car used the Deep Crystal System (steps 1, 2 and 3) this worked very well.

Now for the windows I was very careful and used a razor blade to clean it off the glass.

Plastic I was lucky and had recent application of trim dressing and the paint washed off, what little was left I picked off with my finger nails.

Something with a little more cleanint power on plastic might be Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner and a Triple Duty Detail Brush? Yes it may be time consuming but its a thought.

      Hey,

I have to agree to Gb.

Also, since the paint was latex, have you tried using a pressure washer on it? I would give that a try as well.

Just out of curiosity, why would you spray a car with interior latex paint?

I got it from something that was being painted at work with an airless sprayer... you would be surprised how far paint will drift and still stick to a vehicle.

We no longer use an airless sprayer when there are lots of car at work lots of vehicle to detail!

Guys- I appreciate all your suggestions.
May I ran something buy you ? I washed the beast yesterday and it's not pretty. The spray, in some manner, got to at least 65% of the vehicle. I took a clay bar to the painted surfaces and had no problem removing the spray. The clay had no effect on the cladding or plastic window trim ect.

The new neighbor, who was spraying his interior with open windows and 6 feet from the car, is going to be footing the bill on this one so I stopped buy a detailer for an estimate. This shop is on Pacific Coast Highway, has four stalls that always appear to be busy so I thought they would be in the know. They are either very honest or not very good. The owner and his first hand man took a look and said the paint and windows would be no problem but "you don't want to take it for the plastic/rubber. They went on to say that any type of solvent will mess with the plasticizers and look streaky/blotchy in
time. They also said, although you can get much off by rubbing REALLY HARD on the plastic cladding you will burnish it taking off some of the texture. They did say most will eventually wear off with washing.

I asked him to bid the job high enough
that he could do his best- $300.00

This *****- in 6000 miles I have three
door dings, a crushed in rear bumper
and white spray on the my dark gray
            exterior non my my doing.
See why my handle is snafu?

            Thoughts- Comments ?
