  • Using a ROS with existing Meguiar's products

Greetings all and my first post.

I got myself a new ROS yesterday and a couple of Meguiars pads as my car is suffering from oxidation and watermarks (type II) on . I initially tried hand cleaning/polishing using Scratch-X and DCS Step #2, which helped a little but did not improve the oxidation or watermarks too greatly.

Now I know I'm not meant to use the Scratch-X with a orbital but I can't seem to find any information about using DCS Step #2 & #3 with a orbital. Are these okay to use with a machine or do I have to go out and buy more products again? My bottles of the DCS stuff are still 3/4's full so I was hoping to get rid of that first.

Apologies if I'm asking questions that have already been asked, I tried searching but was not too successful.

You can use scratch X with an orbital. It actually works well, just is hard to remove and often requires a quick detailer spray to remove the residue. You may need to do 2 to 3 applications of scratch x before you completely remove the water marks. Or you could always get a product fromt the professional line like #80 speed glaze. I personally think you will get more bite with scracth x than you will with DC#1.
Good luck and keep at it.

Well I picked up some M80 today and tried using that with my orbital (using a 8006 pad) on my car's roof after I washed and clayed it. The less oxidised parts (mainly near the sides and windscreen) came up pretty good but the majority of the roof did not improve that much at all. The oxidation and watermarks hardly budged so I'm wondering what I should try next? The M83 doesn't seem to be available down here.
