  • Best way to remove products after comparing?

I have an order written down and want to try out a few products between my wife's black VUE and my white Crown Vic to see what works best on each.

My question is how do you remove these products after you find a combo/product you like?

Would an 8006 and #83 do it or will I have to use dish soap or a similiar product?

I did pick up some nxt tech wax locally and applied it to my wife's front bumper (bad bug splatter around here!) and it works great!
Bugs hose right off!! But I would also like to try out #21 on hers and #20 on mine followed by #16.

    Thanks!

    RLdetail,

I'm not sure if I understand, you ask how to remove products and then list our foam pads or dish soap?

Usually for removing products after they've been applied, things like Compounds, Paint Cleaners, Cleaner/Polishes, Pure Polishes and any kind of wax, we recommend 100% cotton terry cloth or a premium quality microfiber polishing cloth.

      Sorry for the confusion

I want to try out a few products to see what I like the best on our cars.

What I want to know is how do I remove all traces of the products I have applied?

Meaning how do I remove for instance #26 or #16 and get back to bare paint so I can apply say NXT to the whole car?

      Hope this clears everything up!

I see, now it makes sense, you want to get down to a clean base to start with. Any Meguiar's compound, paint cleaner, or cleaner/polish when applied to the finish will remove the previously applied waxes and leave a finish perfectly prepared for application of wax.

M83 is pretty aggressive if you're not trying to remove defects, a good, light cleaner/polish would be M09 Swirl Remover 2.0 which is pretty easy to find. M80 Speed Glaze is also a great choice, it offers a little more cleaning power and leaves the finish super clear and glossy. Easy to work with also.

Try a chemical paint cleaner, no need to use an abbrasive product to remove a wax or sealant. There is no harm in simply topping the existing wax or sealant though, NXT will probably remove some of the #16 or #26 on its own anyways.

Travis makes a good point, if the finish on both of these vehicles is already in great shape you could easily get away with Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner by hand or using the dual action polisher. It is a chemical cleaner only as it does not contain any diminishing abrasives. It too leaves a clear, high gloss finish ready for waxing.

This would also be keeping with Meguiar's philosophy of,

                Have some of that too!

Been using that by hand for about 8 years!

Thanks, I'll give it a go and see what I like!

                  Hey RLdetail

Just use the M09 Swirl Remover as it will remove any previous waxes/sealants while leaving a deep rich finish for you to top!!!
