There is alot of different company's that have the claying system. Does it matter what company the clay come's from? The reason I'm asking is that I would like to get some clay to use on the car. The only thing is the auto part store here doesn't sell Meguiar's clay. If I use another company's clay would it do the same as meguiar's.

Yeah, I have the same problem, Meguiars QuickClay isnt always around. I have used other products when needed, and have worked well. I will mention Mothers seem so come with a cleaner wax at the moment, and is a smaller bar, and costs more... so just fyi.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

There are mild clays and aggressive clays. I'd guess that consumer clays are between mild and medium, but I wouldn't know because I haven't used any others. I know that Meguiar's makes two different grades in the professional line, but I haven't used either. Some other manufacturers have come out with a very mild clay intended for frequent use.

I just used the QuikClay system by Meguiars for the first time yesterday...I picked it up at KMart for a closeout $7.00 !...I grabbed two since they were so cheap...I think it works great !...easy to use and extremely effective....Bill Poirier

I have used many different clays from many different companies. At the end of the day, you can only work with what you can acquire. If it is consumerly available, it is most likely mild and will work. The mothers clay is similar to the Meguiars. Not as good in my opinion, but, it gets the job done. It is not bad, just not as easy to work with.
I have used the Meguiars red (aggressive), Blue (mild), and white (quick clay(mildest)). I have been told there is a purple clay which is crazy aggressive, never used it though.
