  • #26 and Deep Crystal #3

Ive notice that on a bottle of #26 and a bottle of Deep Crystal it says that they both contain Carnuba Wax,Polymers, Resins, and Silicones. What is the difference between them, or is it just packageing.

What is the price of each product?

Certainly a difference... Having worked with both quite recently, I find #26 to be a nicer product to work with and, seemingly, one that offers greater durability than step 3 in the DCS.

That's not to say that the DC system is poor but, when it comes to products of this nature, one is a consumer based product and the other is a professional product (mirror glaze). Work with both, side by side, for a period of time and you'll definitely note the difference if you have a trained eye and a good touch...

#26, to me, is well worth the difference in price... it's simply a 'higher end' product... and an awesome one at that.

????? Are you suggesting they are the same except price? The descriptions are very similar.

No, that's the opposite of what I was trying to get across.

          Rockpick nailed it.

One is a Professional product the other is a Consumer product, the Consumer product is a great product for the money, but if you don't mind spending a little more the M26 is even better.

The point was like most things in life, you get what you pay for. The higher the price, typically the better the product. People ask this question about our car washes all the time, we have an entry level car wash in the Deep Crystal Line, if a person wants an even better car wash we have NXT Car Wash and if they want our top shelf car wash, we have Gold Class.

Nothing wrong with Deep Crystal Carnauba wax, I've used it on our black Pilot and it looks great, I see a lot of cars coming to our Saturday Detailing Classes that the owners use the Deep Crystal System on and they are usually the best looking finishes out of the bunch.

There are, indeed, similarities in the products but, each product has it's own unique properties...

I, long ago, asked about the difference between #40 and #57... these are both vinyl and rubber cleaner/conditioners... While I was convinced that both were the same as well, after tinkering with both products in similar environments, it became apparent that one held up MUCH BETTER in a 'wet' environment than the other because it was made to...

This certainly isn't meant to derail your comparison between the labels of the products but, I feel confident that I get what I pay for when it comes to Meguiar's products. They offer varying levels of products for varying levels of consumers.

One guy wants a reasonably priced wax that he can smack on and wipe off with ease... the next wants the top of the line wax that offers a little better end result...

In the end, Meg's offers a product that appeals to both consumers on both levels.

That's not to say that the DC #3 is a poor product... it's just saying that #26 is better product... from experience with both products, I can say this with great confidence.

I got it. Just kidding with you, Mike. DC3 is a good product, and I have used it for a long time. However, I've got a bottle of #26 on the way though.
