    Please help...
I detailed a friends bike for free and me being the idiot sprayed wheel cleaner, turtle wax platnium series, on his hot exhaust and now there are spots.

He calls me and says hes tried using all purpose remover like goof off when it was cool but it didn't work I told him to brign it over tommorow and I'll look at it.

I don't have the money to pay for a new exhaust can for him.... It's a Suzuki GSX-R600

I was wondering how I might fix this? Maybe polish? wax? More wheel cleaner?

My friend told me to try stainless steel cleaner it removes acid rain, etc type things... Damn I'm really worried here

      Hey Rider28x,

      Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

It sounds like there was a chemical reaction/etching between the Turtle Wax product and the hot exhaust. I would suggest that you try Meguiar's NXT Metal Polysh.

      NXT Generation All Metal Polysh

I have had amazing success with it, so hopefully it will help you in your situation as well. Perhaps you should contact Turtle wax and asked them if they have any advice as well.

I have had good luck with Meguiar's NXT Metal Polysh as well, it may take a little work but I have cleaned my stainless exhaust with it after a years worth of build up and now I use it to maintain the look, its much easier that way.

I have also used in on my stainless Weber Grill and it did not seem to react with the heat of the grill in anyway.

I believe these marks can be removed with the NXT metal polish mentioned above.

I removed some oven cleaner from a piece of stainless trim one time with Gold Class metal polish, and I'm sure the NXT polish is just as good.
