could you help me with what products go with what pads, as the owner uses different ones to the products i have
also what speeds should i go for?
    thanks for your help Alex

    Hi Alex,

First of all, what are you working on and what condition is the paint in?

Second, what is your goal? What do you want to accomplish? A show car finish or just spruce up the paint to an acceptable level?

If need be, can you obtain or do you have access to any of our cleaner/polishes in our Professional Line? For example M80 Speed Glaze?

          Hi Alex,

Looks like you went offline before replying to my questions so here's a stab in the dark for you...

For removing defects like swirls and scratches, going by what you've listed in your arsenal, use the ScratchX with the Green pad, (Sonus I believe), as the orange pad is fairly aggressive, you can try it but be watchful for hazing with it.

Run the polisher on the 4.0 5.0 setting with about 4-5 lbs of pressure and work small areas at a time, like one foot squared or maybe a little larger. Don't' buff to a dry buff but buff for at least 2-3 passes in at least 2 different directions, side to side and front to back, like a crosshatch pattern sort of. If the ScratchX gets gummy, try spritzing on a little quick detailer. Wipe off immediately after buffing, use something with a nap, especially if you find it removing with some difficulty.

You can also try the Clear Coat Body Scrub, but from my experience, the ScratchX will produce better results on a clearcoated finish when applied with a dual action polisher. On a single stage, the Clear Coat Body Scrub will probably work pretty well however.

After you have cleaned the paint apply two thin coat of the NXT using the softest foam pad, which should be the blue one on the 3.0 setting. Allow to fully dry and then remove with a bonnet using one of the orange pads on the 5.0 setting. Make sure the orange pad is clean and dry or the moisture in the pad will saturate the bonnet and it will not remove the wax. If the orange pad has been used before but is dry, whack the face of it with your hand to break up and help remove any dried residue before placing the bonnet onto it.

          Hope this helps...

Usually the softest pads for applying wax, since you're using M16 Professional Paste wax, you'll have to scoop some out of the can and spread it onto the pad and remember a little goes a long way and if you put to thick of a coat on it will be very difficult to remove, so thin, thin coats of any wax and especially M16

Have fun and try to share some before and after pictures.

should i use a blue pad for removing the #16 aswell? or should i use the Ultimate Bonnet?

when are you coming to the UK?

For removing wax, use a clean bonnet on the stiffest foam pad. Soft foam pad will give way easier versus actually remove the wax. Make sure it's dry and clean if possible. When I remove the wax off a car using the dual action polisher I like to use our W-7006 foam cutting pad as it work better than our polishing pad and or finishing pad.

sorry havent got the hang of the quotes yet,

                        A: i'll give that a go tomorrow.

B: i could probably get a few of the Megs UK forum members to chip for the airfare, but some of us are looking into coming over next spring specifically for the Detailing class, so hopefully we can arrange maybe a 2 dayer or something ( although getting our cars over might be a bit hard )

i know it might be a bit tight on time , but it would be good to hear some of your advice and views over on our UK forum

It's a time honored tradition that when one is away from home at a detailing class to practice on a rental car.*

and with the way those are treated, that'd be a good showcase for the Megs products
