  • Need Help getting a deep shine..

I have been using meguiars on my 20th anniversery Jazz Blue Gti for the entire year I have owned her, and while I am happy with the result every time, I still feel like it could be deeper and wetter looking. This is what I have been using (all applied by hand).
    1. Gold Class Car Shampoo
    2. Clay Bar
    3. Color-X (also tried Scratch X)
    4. NXT Liquid Wax
Ill spend the entire day using these products and I am still not getting the deep color I have been looking for... Its more like the car is reflecting other colors more than shining.

So I went out to get some more supplies and noticed the Deep Crystal 3 stage cleaner polish carnuaba wax. Will this help me get what I am looking for? The wax talks more about beading protection then shine, but from what I have read carnuaba wax will get me what I am looking for. Also I stopped by sears to see if they carried the PC, but they only have random orbital's, but they did have a 6" one, now I am just waiting for the weather here in dreadful new york to get nice again so that I can try out the 3 stage. But is there anything else i should be trying? Thank you very much from a confused newbie!

    Hi dmonitto,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Try applying the Deep Crystal Carnauba wax after either washing the car, or applying a pure polish like the Deep Crystal Polish. If your finish is clean and clear to start with and it sounds like it is, then this combination might give you that deep, wet-look you're looking for.

It's not just about the sizes of the buffing pad, it's about power and speed also. The one Sears carries doesn't offer the power and the speed the one everyone is always talking about, the dual action polisher, also generically referred to as the PC.

You can get the same results by applying the above products by hand as you will by using the slow orbital polishers. Where the dual action polisher really shines is for removing below surface defects and restoring a crystal clear clear coat perfect for applying a pure polish or a pure wax onto.
