  • PC pad selection

Hey folks, I am taking the big plunge and getting a PC, so what pads to I all need to get w/ it? I'll be using DACP & speed glaze to prep the paint then topping w/ a few coats of NXT. Thanks!

Meg's has a kit on their site for about $33 that's comes with 3 pads and backing plate. Use the yellow pads with the #80, the white with the NXT and then get a mf bonnet to remove the wax using the second yellow pad. The order number is W-DAV99 for the 4 pads and backing plate.

So it finally hit me why it's better to get the kit instead of buying the pads separately...the kit comes w/ a backing plate while the individual pads do not, correct?

Yes (if you need a backing plate). The sets also cost less per pad than buying them individually.

The W-DAV99 DA Velcro Buffing System comes with three pads and a backing plate. This is the one to get if you have a PC that doesn't have an appropriate backing plate (like a 7424, 7336 or 7335).

The WDAV99-B Set of 3 Polishing Pads is for three pads only. Get this set to stock up on pads for the G-100 or other PC that already has an appropriate plate.

I also prefer to use a W-7006 cutting pad for bonnets. It's stiffer than the W-8006 and W-9006.
