  • Light Swirls from Polishing

Mike, I just tried out the following combination on my solid black bonnet. The environment temperature was 32 degree Celcius. The result/difficulties are stated behind the methods...

    1) Rotary + #83 + W-8006 : Mild swirls created, product dried up abit on the surface. Minimal swirls produced when I am able to keep the pad flat to the surface, but once reached the edges, swirls are created when I tilted the pad abit.

    2) Rotary + #80 + W-9006 : Swirls are mostly gone, sometimes product can't be buffed away, creating uneven patches on the surface. However, when I wiped down the finish with #34 with Ultimate Wipe, those swirls came back immediately.

    3) DA + #80 + W-9006 : Product is hard to be buffed away, uneven patches, hazes. Takes longer time to break down. More dust produced.

Any of these methods do not satisfy my requirement. I guess probably I've gone wrong with the steps. Or perhaps the weather is too hot and product dries up too fast. Please comment, thanks!

JeffM, last week when I put on a line of 8" polish, I caked up the pad, had splatter and excessive residues. Now, I just put on 2" of polish, covering a small area only, about 8" X 12".
