hi, i'm new here on the forum and i'm from belgium
I've been reading for a while on forums like this one but all the information is quite hard to understand.
So the days to come i want to detail my car. It has never been clayed, polished, ... Only the usual wax thing.
The subject car is a '95 Toyota Carina E (corona in some countries), not a special car, but hey.
It's black metallic so the paint has a clear coat ?
The car's paint is in pretty bad condition. If you look at it from a meter or zo it's really shiny, but if you get some closer you really see there are a lot of swirls and scratches in it. Swirls are the result of rinsing the car with water from a well thats FULL of sand. If i only knew at that age... ALso the previous owner was a car wash man.
So i want to clay, polish, an wax the car. I don't have a rotary (which would be dangerous at my current level :p ) or an orbital so it has to be done by hand.
Claying : Just the quick clay system
Polishing: Here's the one i doubt the most, should i use speed glaze, swirl remover, ... ?
Wax: I have some NXT wax overhere so i guess i'll just use that ?
Also i have another question. I think i'm going to acquire those, what are they called, high pile cotton towels ? ore something.
I'd use em for drying the car after a wash but can i use the same towels for a quick detail.
And are they also good for the removal of polish and wax ?
Ow, and how do you wash your towels, is it safe to use some soap or just put it in the machine with wate at 60°?
Forgive me my noobish questions
