  • Zaino Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner

Note to Mods: I was not sure where to post this information, so if it needed to be moved to its appropriate section please do so. Also, I am carefully trying not to break rules #4 and #9 for my comments and questions.

Ok, one of my friends who is Zaino fan received the below email from them. In order to avoid a nasty conflict of opinion, I thought about Mike’s signature “Find something that you like and use it often” Anyway, I told my buddy “good for you that you like them”
One thing that caught my eyes was the fourth bullet. I think there is some copyright issues from their marketing department.
In any case, I just thought that this would be interesting to share.

Sounds like an over technical term for diminishing abrasives to me. It also seems like it might be a good polish for "home" use but wont serve the professional because of the cost per ounce.

I'm not sure I see any copyright infringements in their copy. Zaino has always been a company that uses scare tactic to make a sale, such as,

Best of all, Zaino Show Car Polish™ creates an award-winning finish without the use of abrasives or harmful silicones.

Silicones are inert, they will not harm anything. The only time silicone is and issue, (not a problem), is if you're going to have your car repainted, and then any professional body shop is going to prepare the panels for fresh paint, this means removing anything from the surface that could prevent good adhesion of the paint being sprayed onto the car.

Anyone that things that when they have their car painted, they just wipe the car down and start spraying paint onto it is mis-informed. Car panels go through all kinds of pre-paint preparation including sanding down to primer and sometimes metal.

This means anything ever applied out of a bottle, like a car wax, has be obliterated from the surface and is no longer an issue.

Meguiar's prefers not to use scare tactics to win customers and instead relies on the performance of our products.

I guess they'll have to change the above statement on their homepage as now they use abrasives as a part of their system. At least now Sal and all his distributors can stop recommending 3M products.

The fact that they utilize diminishing abrasives just means they have looked to the best, and copied us like everyone else as it's an established fact that Meguiar's pioneered the use of diminishing abrasives with their very first products back in 1901.

We'll give them a try on black paint and see how well they work.

Thats funny Mike. Maybe you should keep with the Zaino theme and test the new products on white paint.

I have never tried their stuff, and I am not sure I will. Here is a comparison:

          1. Zaino Z2 Pro - 8oz for $14.95 ($1.87 per oz.)

          2. NXT Tech Wax - 18oz for $15.99 ($.89 per oz.)

Zaino costs 210% more eventhough (per their website):

Zaino does not believe in fancy advertising, labels or packaging. We intentionally keep our costs low, and pass the saving on to you. You will not find our products in stores; we are strictly an Internet and mail order business. Our direct-to-customer business policy allows us to use the finest ingredients and maintain the highest quality, while keeping our products at a modest cost.

Modest? I don't need the cost of the product to tell me how well it works. I am hooked on Meguiars and don't see changing

Just FYI, it costs 110% more. It costs 210% of what NXT costs. NXT costs 100% of what NXT costs, so Zaino is 110% more.
