  • M80 Questions??

Ok, after calling a number of places I didn't even knew existed around me - success!! I got the M80. I have a couple of questions on its use though. I did a search o fthis forum and found lots of info on M80, but none specifically addressing my tqo questions.

    1. Is there a problem with using the orbital buffer to put M80 on? The bottle says it's ok, I just wanted to be sure. I don't have a G100-yet....
    2. The other threads say that M80 is a sort of apolish so does that mean that it takes this step. Meaning, I can go from wash- clay - M80 - NXT?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes you can apply it with the G-100, I have applied it several times now and it works very well with that machine

I have found that #80 does a nice job polishing on its own and you can then go to the wax (NXT). I like to use a polish after #80, I really like #81, gives it just a little more depth/pop. But again #80 does a very nice job on its own.

The old style orbitals are too large and distribute pressure over too large an area to be effective. The 6" pads on the G-100 will do a much better job.

#80 is a first try type polish and can remove swirls depending on how hard/soft the paint it and how deep the swirls are. Worst case you can do multiple applications over any bad spots. Leaves an excellent shine and ready for NXT. If you find that's not strong enough to do what you want, #83 would be the next step, it's probably not that more abbrasive but it doesn't break down as fast. Once thing you can do for an extra deep shine is use #7 Show Car Glaze between #80 and NXT.

        Hi Toro.........Welcome to MOL.

#80 is a very good cleaner/polish, and you can go straight to NXT afterwards.

I've never used it with an orbital, but I'm sure there would be no problems, as #80 is very versatile.

Great, thanks for all of the info. That's exactly what I was looking for. I think I am going to try the #7 show glaze between the m80 and nxt, I have some anyway. That sounds like a good idea. I don't have my G100 yet, but hopefully I will get one soon. In the meantime I will be using my 6 inch orbital buffer. It is a really good size and seems to do the trick. Thanks again and I'll let you all know how it comes out.
