  • Please dumb this down

Ok, one gets a PC Polisher. Cars with good to very good or new paint. What to do?

    I am thinking:

    1. Wash then clay if necessary

    2. Apply a good polish (?) using (?) pad on PC? Remove Polish by hand or using (?) pad on PC.

    3. Planning on NXT or Gold Class applied using (?) pad and removed by hand or using (?) pad.

Again I don't think I need a lot of scratch or swirl remover, if any.

    Thanks for the help.

    One more thing

Oh, and does a PC Polisher sling any polish at all? If so, how does one keep off of convertible tops and/or black bumpers, rubber etc.

Ok You first need to wash the car if after you wash the car you can feel a ruff finish try to caly the areas that are ruff most likely it will be the front end of the vehicle and around the splash areas of the vehicle under the side door trim and the rear bumper sometimes depending on the vehicle the roof and the rear trunk are ruff to this should take you a couple of hours to do . Once you have completed the claying feel the finish see if it is smooth or better than before look for anything out of the ordinary deep scratches or abrasions. Then tape the vehicle off masking tape 2inch wide will do most of the car you want to tape off any black plastic of vinyl on the outside of the vehicle. On convertables use a oversized blanket or cloth to cover we use a packing blanket they are cheap and very durable. While using a pc polisher .You can get splatter on a vehicle however taking these precautions will save you time on your detail....

          Here you go,

          Wash then clay if necessary
Apply Deep Crystal Step 2 Polish or #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 using a W-8006 pad with your PC on about the 4.0 setting.

          Remove with microfiber polishing cloth.

Apply either the Gold Class, or the Tech Wax with a new, clean w-8006, or W-9006 finishing pad on between the 2.0 or 3.0 setting.

Use overlapping motions and apply a nice, even coating. Allow to dry for 10 - 15 minutes and then remove with a clean, premium quality microfiber. If you want, you can remove your polish and wax using microfiber bonnet over a dry polishing pad, you can order these through Meguiar’s website, the part number is M-9920 (Ultimate Bonnet)

Afterwards, stand back and admire the results.

          How's that?

As you use the PC and your pad becomes more saturated with product, it will spray out spots at the higher OPM settings.

For this reason, you want to tape-off components and openings that you don't want to spray with product, and yes, you do want to tape-off and cover things like convertible tops.

You can use plastic drop cloths, like the 1.5 and 2.0 mill plastics ones available at hardware stores, or a clean, cotton sheet.

For taping off, go to a local hardware store or a PBE store and pick up some painters tape. Home Depot and Lowe's usually care this type of tape. It's blue and will not leave residue on your car. Try to get a couple of different widths.

            Hope this helps...

I'm so glad someone posted this. I am going to get the package deal for the G100a when Mike posts it. I didn't know what to do after I got it. What pads to use? What speed? What product? I'm very glad you asked these questions.

Meguiar's sent me a PC video with my PC package...I would presume that all that buy the package would get the same video.

I would at least ask for it to be included in the deal.
