    Hazing & Oxidation Fix

    I had my car repainted back in 2007 and kept it up fairly nice up til 2012 when I started neglecting it, no wash, no wax, hot California & Arizona summers. Well fast forward to now the problem is starting to get worse. I'm pretty sure it's a easy fix as I don't think it's a clear coat failure just possibly hazing on it.

    I tried doing the Wash > Claybar > Compound > Polish > Wax routine but for some reason I don't think I'm doing it right. After the compound it becomes more hazy and it would just build up. I bought a Meguiars G3500 DA Power system tool to try with my power drill. Any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of this problem?

    You can see it on the fender, above the door and quarter panel, it's worse on the roof. The driver side isn't bad because it's not exposed to the sun often.

    I have the same problem (a little oxidation, maybe just rain water spots), and needs a wax job for sure!
    My plan is a 4-step: Wash, claybar, cleaner/wax, and a Meg Ultimate wax.
    The 800# Meguiar guy over the phone last week suggested a Meg All-in-One (AIO) Liquid Cleaner/wax. I think it had the word "Mirror
    or Glaze in it.
    Can someone help?

      Nu Finish Scratch Doctor removed hazing / streaking from my car paint. Tip: when applying any Scratch remover abrasive, don't use a ton of force otherwise you'll create cloudiness on the part where you rubbed it in.

      You should also follow it up with something less abrasive like Polish to even it out. Then wax... That got rid of it for me. I have a black car as well.

        Thank you BlackAltima for the tip of not using a ton of force. I have a 2005 G35 Infinity and have read that it has "soft paint". And I also read that using a Foam applicator won't scratch or mar as much as a MF pad would.
        So thanks again for your quick response. I am thinking about using Meguiars Mirror/Glaze Cleaner Wax #6 by hand.
