    Hi Frank,

When you get time, read Meguiar's new FAQ.

    It is located here,

    Meguiaur's New FAQ

Your questions about machines, (the rotary buffer, orbital buffers and the dual action polisher), are all answered in the FAA.

Here is the actual link to those answers.

Working with a machine versus working with your hands

You have asked a lot of good question in your other post on how to best detail your classic Corvette here,

    detailing a classic vette

Some of your questions are answered in the FAQ also, such as your questions, or interest in Silicones, such as Question 19 under General Questions

    19. Are products that contain silicone bad for my car's finish?

Here's another article you might like to read on Silicones...

It looks like since you are the new, proud owner of such a really cool car that your interest in growing on how to best take your Corvettes finish to it's maximum potential. I don't blame you, I owned that car, I would polish it out until each and ever defect was eliminated and the paint looked like it was dripping wet.

Later today, I will answer your questson on your other post, (I took the liberty to break up the questions and add some pictures of your car to your original message, I did this by uploading two pictures of your car into your photo gallery, I hope you don't mind).

I held a clinic here at Meguair's just yesterday and showed quite a few people how to polisih scratches, etching, water spots and swirls out of the Corvettes finishes, I will be uploading the pictures with commentary today and tonight.

You can read about it here,

North County Corvette Club Detail Day at Meguiar's
