  • Powder coats

Hey guys , I'm helping a friend do his brothers race car on friday. It is powder coated. I've buffed out clear coats and base coats on cars but, never on a race car or powder coats though. Should i procede as i normal would or is there a different approach i should go?

the entire car is powdercoated? thats interesting, never heard of that. Well i have cleaned my fair share of powdercoated wheels. From the experience ive had sometimes the powdercoat is very soft. If you are wanting to remove swirls i would say go no higher than #80 and do it veeeeerry lightly. At least on the wheels if you put too much elbow grease into it, they will start to flake. Just keep in mind what goes into powdercoating in the beginning and the occasional softness of it and you should be ok.

    P.S.
If there are any decals on it be careful with the edge of them. Just like you would a pinstripe.
