If I were to apply a sealant and let it properly cure and then use the black paste wax which may have cleaning and filling abilities will it remove the layer of sealant.

Re: Question about black paste wax
Can i expect it to last and protect like a high quality carnauba paste or does the special color and texture reduce these capabilties? I bought it a few months back with the ultimate compound and polish for my black bmw128i. I have been detailing at work now for a while and have learned of some great products and have considered subbing out the black wax for wolfgang 3.0 sealant for the ohio winter for better protection. And may skip this black wax all together on this car since I can now polish a car.

Re: Question about black paste wax
BTW I have waited actually buff the car until about now I am ready. So I have not used the ultimate lineup on it yet just clay and auto magic hydro shine at work or a quick wax tor turtle wax black spray wax. Paint work it trashed previous owner neglected it but I manage to make it look decent despite the holograms and scratches.

Re: Question about black paste wax
It will protect a little better as it contains synthetic properties. It is still carnauba based.
The color of the wax has nothing to do with the actual product. White Wax offers more cleaning/correcting ability as it contains a higher abrasive load. It can be used on any color and not just light colors. Black wax still contains abrasives but just less of them. Instead black wax contains more polishing oils which will darken the paint more and give that warm glow that darker colors benefit from.
A sealant will give you better protection for those snowy winter months. Ultimate Wax would be a good sealant to use for the winter. For even longer protection, paint protect 365 would be a good choice as well. Ultimate Wax will give a slightly better look over ultimate wax. Ultimate Wax is similar to Wolfgang 3.0 in terms of both being sealants. Just be sure to follow the directions on wolfgang as it requires to be on the paint for 45 minutes prior to removal and it can't get wet within a 24 hour period.

Re: Question about black paste wax
I never used the paste wax but the liquid version is easy to apply via machine. It also won't stain trim like the paste version.
The opening of the paste wax container limits the size of the pad used. A 4" pad would fit in the container.
So it depends on what size pads you have available to you.
I like to machine apply everything if I can.

Re: Question about black paste wax
I have decided to go with the wolfgang. Will top with a carnauba then use ultimate liquid wax maybe right around the new year with some ultimate quick wax in between. As far as the special compound for the bmw paint I think the ultimate compund and polish should be good to use because the jet black paint seems pretty soft and the ultimate lineup seems to be one of the most well rounded.
