I have some nasty water spots on my windows of my daily driver. The car has been parked next to some lawn sprinkles for months. I now have changed the time when the sprinklers come on to avoid water hitting my car. They are probably in the the paint too but since car is white they are probably hard to see.
I started working with my DA, and some of the new polishing 5.5" discs/thin pads along with the least aggressive liquids at hand. I did not see much improvements (or not fast enough) so I ended up going to M105 but some windows required about 3x with 3 or 4 passes per window to get most of the spots out. Some windows still have spots after this so I got tired
and am leaving this for another day. My questions are:
1. Would a burgundy pad cut more water spots faster? I know it will cut more paint compared to a polish pad but not sure if I can assume the same increase in cut ability in water spots and glass.
2. In the new pads line up the foam lineup ends with the Burgundy pad and the Microfiber lineup starts with the Finish pad. Does a MF Finish pad have more cut than a Burgundy Foam pad or about the same? Just thinking ahead in case the burgundy ones I have on order do not make the cut.
