  • Using ColorX with DA power system

Hello guys, this is my first post, but i've been reading a lot this forum. So let me introduce myself a bit.
My name is Emilio, I'm 25 and i own a 2014 black challenger, im pretty new at detailling, actually always took my cars to the car wash until one day i saw my car on the direct sunlight and saw some swirl marks on the hood, so i research what could be the possible cause and ended up here haha.

So basically i want to erase those horrible swirls that are driving me crazy everytime i see my car in the direct sunlight. I just washed my car with the two bucket method and manage to take a few pictures of my swirls.

Went shopping and i bought some meguiars stuff that might do the work, so basically this is what i got

    1 bottle of color X
    1 smooth surface kit
1 nxt 2.0 tech wax kit (wax and aplicator)

besides that i already ordered via amazon the meguiars DA power system, 2 cutting pads (burgundy ones), 2 yellow pads and Ultimate polish, 1 black pad and ULW arriving next monday. I already have UC.
So my question is Can i use the Color X with the DA power system and the Meguias DA burgundy pad (cutting pad) for more aggressiveness???, i got this idea from a thread of someone who did an awesome job in a Ford F150 Harley davidson edition with White wax and the cutting pad here is the link.

Or what would you recomend me to eliminate those swilrs and keep my paint in really good condition?? To be honoest i dont want to go with the traditional Ultimate Compound, Ultimate polish and ULW i would like another alternatives but if i have to, i'll.

I usually wash my car with this items, overall i think im improving my technique and im still learning reading this forum and watching videos. I want my challenger to look the meanest possible and there is nothing mean on a black swirled paint

This is the stuff im using atm

and this is how my car looks ATM

thanks guys, hope to get some good advices.

Hi Emilio and welcome to MOL!

You could certainly try the ColorX with your DAPS, but I doubt you'll achieve much. ColorX is a mild cleaner wax, so it's not designed for defect removal, but it may help, depending on how hard/soft your paint is and the severity of the swirls.

Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to go straight for UC on a burgundy pad, then follow up with UP on a yellow pad, then wax/sealant of course.

    Good luck!

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
